Privacy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
PositiveVibes.app is a small utility for creating and sharing genuine, positive messages. This notice explains what we store and why.
When you generate a vibe
Generating a message privately does not create a public record. We apply short-lived, hashed rate-limit counters (a one-way hash of your IP address) to prevent abuse. Raw IP addresses are not stored for generation.
When you publish or share a vibe
When you choose to publish a vibe to a shareable /v/ link, we store:
- the message text and the vibe's tone, recipient category, length, theme, and language;
- the optional To and From names you add to the card;
- creator-side technical metadata about the publish request: your IP address, a hash of your IP address, an approximate country, a one-way hash of your browser's user-agent, and the Cloudflare request identifier.
Why we collect publish metadata
This information is used to operate the service, prevent abuse and spam, review the safety of shared content, and respond to lawful requests. Your raw IP address is never shown to other users, and it is never sent to the automated content-moderation model that screens names.
What we do not do
- We do not duplicate your To/From names or message text into the technical audit log.
- We do not currently expose share analytics, view counts, or viewer information to anyone. If that changes, this notice will be updated first.
- We do not track the IP addresses of people who merely view a shared vibe.
Retention
Technical publish metadata is retained only as long as needed for abuse prevention and safety review. As a general intention: hash-only rate-limit records are kept for about 7–14 days, raw creator IP addresses for about 90 days, and hashed metadata for up to 12 months. An automated cleanup routine is planned.
